Watching this over 3 nights. One night to go. Way too long and not that interesting. I don't get the praise for DeNiro and Leo. Nothing special at all in Deniro's performance, and all Leo does is scowl through the movie. Honestly, I could have just watched a rerun of "The FBI Story" with Jimmy Stewart, which had a segment on the Osage murders. In that very good movie, the protagonists were a banker and his son.....which rendition is correct? Oh well, I will finish it tonight.

My reaction to the film is more positive overall. I thought the general quality of storytelling and acting worked to tell a compelling story. I am not a fan of very long films. It is difficult for me to sit through and be fully involved in the film at anything this long. Same comments go with Oppenheimer.

The movie meticulously follows the book. The book is deemed the bible, posted on February 10, 2024 at 13:21:47

a soulless redneck. DeNiro was his usual self. Marty wrapping up the film was an unusual but more painless way of resolving the story.

Odds on First Native American Oscar for lead.

3 1/2 hours of standing around emoting in a indian blanket! The movie was a bore, Gladstone was a bore, DiCaprio was a bore.... the only dim light was DeNiro. I have all but given up on Marty directing a compelling film any more. He should retire. As far as Best Actress goes, Mulligan, Bening and Huller were FAR superior in their respective roles.....

Except it is a woke-city event. So, Gladstone has a good shot at abducting the little gold man.
