For two looooooong time movie buffs, with no night without a good movie two years without is long time.

Our last movie together was on February 23, 2022. Since then nothing but current events coverage and analysis.

I would still get small pieces of that pie here and there, 30 minutes... 20 minutes of Netflix garbage when my wife went to bed early.

A very nice recent change to that parade of murderers and delinquents was the Australian The Tourist, featuring great cast (especially the two lead actors) and some witty writing. The restroom key scene is a masterpiece.

So without any further ado here is my enthusiastic recommendation.

See you again... in another two years, perhaps?

Just finished Season 1 and throughly enjoyed it. A quirky and compelling series. Season 2 starts on February 29th.

Another recent Netflix series I can recommend is The Brothers Sun. Two brothers, one a Taipei Triad assassin, and the other, a nerdy college student are separated at a young age. Fate brings them together when the killer brother comes to LA to protect his mother and younger oblivious brother from the warring triads. Somewhat lighter fare than The Tourist, but the action, humor and great casting, including Michelle Yeoh, made it enjoyable for me.

the character Billy in The Tourist was the lead in a very good Icelandic crime drama called Trapped. I saw it a couple years ago on Netflix or Amazon Prime. It's worth hunting down. I see it's available for purchase on Amazon.
