4k tv with picture off button on remote

I have a 2015 Sony Bravia 1080 hdtv that has a pic off button on the remote.

When I stream Amazon hd music or Radio paradise I want to shut off the picture but let the music play through my attached stereo system. I do not want to view music artwork while listening to music.

I have not found a new 4K hdr tv that has this button on the remote.

Why this is not standard today baffles me.

Interesting idea, bit probably little demand for it. I haven't seen any 4K TVs with that feature.

I guess you never use streaming music apps like Tidal or Amazon HD music on your home theater!

I would think they are popular today.

Most smart tvs I have seen only comes with a limited amount of apps, and you can't add any. My new Samsung 70Q is that way, so the only music app on there is Spotify. So chances it will have the ones you want are not great, even if the screen will sleep.

Smart TV apps collect your viewing details and get payments for doing so.

Many TV viewers use streaming boxes from Apple, Roku, and Amazon for much greater number of services.

They are also much faster with better user interfaces.

Most TV viewers are not videophiles, with great sounding sound playback, for movies, TV series, and music.

Great audio with video is a must for the home theater experience IMO!

Soundbars and 5.1 are much worse that true high end stereo playback.

I generally don't, since my music system is separate from my video system. I think it's a great idea, since my wife streams Pandora while she works from home. It would save wear on my TV.
However, I don't think that most people care.

Some designer at Sony in 2015 cared.

I agree most do not care, but I have heard complaints from music lover people that stream high quality music on their HT system, that hate to look at the TV while listening to music.

I use the Picture Off button quite a lot and can not live without it.

To each their own!

Sony XBR X950G doesn't have the screen blanking button on the provided remote, but you can configure a Logitech Harmony remote to send that code. (IMHO, every AV enthusiast should have a Harmony in their toolbox for accessing those extra functions, or subbing for a missing or broken remote.)

How do you program that code into the Harmony?

Will the old remote (from 2015) that has that function "program into the Harmony?

The remote codes have changed over time on Sony HDTVs.
