My other half wants a straightforward system to use and doesn't want a ton of electronics and speakers scattered about the room. We are buying a new TV and have decided on the 65" LG G1 OLED. I need a sound bar that will give me acceptable audio, be relatively easy to use, and not cost multi kilobucks. Probably go up to $1K for it. Be happier if I was at $500 to $700, but what is another $300 right? Preferably Atmos.

Anyone have good recommendations? The easy to use is going to be a high selling point to my better half.

Previously, I would have said Sonos Arc is a decent soundbar, but my friend has the ARC, and I was forced into Sonos Beam II soundbar by my other half. IME, simulating 5.1, 7.2, Atmos, etc with soundbar is not very satisfying, and a good 2.1 is much preferable.
Sonos ARC is $899, and Klipsch Fives are on Amazon right now for $475! ($799 list). The Fives do come with the convenient HDMI-ARC.

I'm playing around with it. The center channel is awful. However, adding an outboard center seems to tame the sound a bit. I'm going with whatever I can fit in the space available.

I sold this stuff a few years ago and have ONE take away.

Cheap sound bars sound awful or like a clock radio.

Better / usable, will cost more $$$. I set the bar around 500$ at that point but it may have migrated either way since.

The LG OLED? Terrific Choice.
