With all of the premium networks, Amazon Prime, Netflix... is there really any need for a Blue Ray / DVD player any more? Having a coffee out back, it's 68 degrees, I brought it up. Told Kathie we never rent from Redbox any more. She commented that she didn't know we still had a player.

We don't have any premium networks, Amazon Prime, Netflix... all we have is cable and Disney+. And with that our players are very rarely used, probably 6-12 months ago since. And that would just be playing something we have.

Not dead, but certainly not in it's prime. I don't subscribe to premium networks, not enough there to make it worth the price. I do have somewhere around 1,500 discs in my video library. I still watch them periodically, especially some imports that aren't available on streaming. The picture is usually better on Blu-Ray than the equivalent HD streaming. Jack
