Another Randolph Scott/Bud Boetticher collaboration with a similar theme is "Commanche Station". Scott rescues Nancy Gates from Commanches only to learn there's a reward for her return and he must deal with bounty hunters led by Claude Akins. According to IMDb, this was to be Scott's retirement movie. Retirement lasted for 2 years until he was lured by Sam Peckinpah to be in "Ride The High Country", which was Scott's final movie.
