'Borgen', anyone?

Not knowing anything about the series I began with number four, "Power and Glory". After about three episodes I was locked onto Babett Knudsen's incredibly nuanced performance as Denmark's Foreign Minister. I was so taken I was compelled to watch the first three seasons which started with her becoming Denmark's first female PM. I was initially discombobulated noticing how much younger the cast appeared compared to "Power and Glory". That set me seeking out series information only to find the answer: There had been a NINE-year lapse between the productions! That's a mighty rare thing in television or film.

The entire cast is excellent and picked up their characters perfectly after the nine-year lapse. The entire series is a joy to watch despite a few melodramatic flaws. BBC describes it best . . .
