Austin Butler is a small-town, baseball wannabe who runs off to NYC to escape a tragic past. He lives in a seedy apartment with a radical neighbor who asks him to take care of his cat. Reluctantly, he agrees, and this sets in motion one of the most brutal, brutal crime scams that's loaded with twists and turns. At times, it's hard to catch your breath.
The cast is loaded up with Tier One talent, and Austin Butler shines through as a true top talent currently working.
To me, the best parts were the "Monster" observant Jewish mobsters played by Liev Schreiber and Vincent D'Onofrio. True killer hits.
The violent nature of this film needs caution. It's not for those with squeams.
