I think an acknowledgement and perhaps a humorous apology coupled with a shy hug will keep things going smooth.

I hope we have room for all opinions here. Of course if that opinion is based solely on sand-bagging the opponent [i.e. I didn't see the film nor will ever see it, but I know it's crap because I'm the infallible vessel of intellect and you're not], that room shrinks to the size of a lambskin condom. Which isn't much.
