A small classic. Pays homage to the noir films and is one itself without being mawkish and/or egregiously derivative.It did make Turner a star. It also made sure Hurt would never be cast in a hero's role (unless you consider his stint in "Kiss of the Spider Woman" a hero's role. Now there is another film worthy of a bit of chatter!)
I've always enjoyed (wrong term?! I'm male!) this film.
