I kept nodding my head as I read it, I agree almost competely.

From my memory I would only add that I though Kelvin's character did develop quite a bit, and also, even from the distance of several years, I get goose bumps remembering the scenes with his wife. Those scenes are truly tortuous and emotionally draining every time I see them.

All that is exactly what I meant when I said I love the sci-fi films that show the "effect" of technology on humans, more than the technology itself.

But you said it so right...
