The story, told in five chapters, concerns the gradually intersecting stories of seven people somehow related to the dead girl, whose mutilated body is discovered early in the film. The acting is superb throughout and the characters relate in realistic ways. Director Karen Moncrieff also wrote the intricate screenplay.
