"Grimm": Fairytale or not?

Some one brought up this Dutch film just recently and I gave it a view this evening. Unique, but my question is: Do segments of the plot represent various tales of the Brothers Grimm? I'm not that familiar with their stories so if anybody spotted correlations, please let me know.

It's an okay watch...different and somewhat puzzling.
