This is a remake of a classic Alec Guiness film from 1950. With a gender change. Queen Latifah plays Georga Burns, a cook ware demo clerk in a New Orleans department dtore, part of a chain close to bankruptcy. After an MRI for a head injury she is led to believe that she has only three weeks or so to live. She quits, cashes in all her retiremet investments and some bonds her mother had left her, and heads to a swanky European spa in the mountains. She tries just about every meal, spa treatment, and sport that comes her way and begins to learn some things about herself. Other guests (all rich) think she is one of them and her charm and pluck attract even the most jaded. There are a large number of sub plots but all are neatly attended to and developed. I took this out of the local libarary as a lark and found it delightful and heartwarming, if a bit over the top in a couple of scenes. Recommended for a good light comedy on a Summer's evening.
