Beowulf w and w/o 3D

OK I went to non-3D Beowulf last weekend and with 3D today.
The 3D version is MUCH better..they almost seem like different movies. Not being able to do an A-B side by side comparison, some scenes seem to me to be set up differently.

Esp in 3D this is an amazing movie. Sometime it seems the movie going public is underwhelmed by how far we have come in computer generated animation work in recent years. This movie is light years away from technology in place just a year or two ago.

All in all, having the story basically down after last week, I just sat back and enjoyed the wild ride.

Now I'm wondering why these 3D movies cant go on DVD or what it is about the projector equipment that is different. This is one treat I can't reproduce on my 100-inch home theater and a real reason to go out to the theater. I got to see this in what is probably the newest, biggest and best theater in Lexington, Theater 1 at the new Cinemark. A real treat for the eyes AND ears. In many ways this was better than the IMAX I was to in Providence RI a few years ago. The 3D was better I think. The only comparable 3D I've seen was down at Disney World.

I debated whether I should see the movie a second time, but I'm really glad I did.

David
