I mostly agree, this is not his most "together" film

The homage to Bergman was perhaps too apparent, sometimes dominating the perception, but Erland Josephson was superb, and I think one reviewer on imdb put it best:

"The question of liking or disliking this film is unimportant. Undoubtedly there will be people who will dislike it. But the one thing that is indeed impossible, is to remain indifferent to it."

Of course the cinematography is breathtaking, and of course it is thought provoking. How often you get that much for your Netflix buck-fifty?
