Everything about the film was very well done...except the irrational, irritating jumping around between different periods in Piaf's life. A film-schoolish I'm-such-an-artiste gimmick that utterly ruined a good movie.

As the guy who jumped off the 20-story building shouted as he passed the 10th Floor "So far..so good!"
