had this plot succeeded. Hitler micro-managed the Eastern campaign against opposition from his Generals, causing traffic jams, chaos + un-necessary delays Hitlerian pig-headedness was an ally to the Allies
Putting the defence of Germany back in the hands of say, Erwin Rommel, ( who was involved in the plot ) with Hitler out of the way, might have prolonged the inevitable by many more months ( or, Heaven forbid, even brought about a reversal )
