Reviewers: not always give a trustworthy evaluation?

When I want to read reviews I go to mrqe.com. The first one I try to go to is Ebert. Even though Ebert is very sophisticated in his tastes, he is very articulate and once you figure out his personality type (in writing anyway) then you can get what he is saying better. When he says it's trash he is usually right. On the other hand he's a bit too sophisticated in his tastes and doesn't take in consideration movie viewers with little experience (like me maybe)

I've read reviews that poo poo a movie but I kind of liked the movie
( usually because I understand it's a low budget one).

I just finished 'The Beach' with Leonardo De Caprio. It was definatly low budget but I liked it (in a limited way maybe) because I vistited a couple 'communes' in the late 60s and early 70s.The movie had an adventurous spirit early on but the strange politics kind of killed that. Ebert kind of tore it apart and it deserved it partially. As I said I take the reviewers with a little trepidation ( my $20 word for the day. I hope it's contextually correct). He probably Didn't do a lot of backpacking or seek high adventure when he was young and instead was happy in his tiny office cubicle at the Chicago Sun Times.
