'Flight': Topsy Turvy and back again . . . .

Is it just me? Every time I see a realistic recreation of an in-flight emergency it gives me butterflies but this time was worse. Not saying this is falsely intense but that it pushed all my buttons and came back to haunt me during the investigation replay.

What we have here is the usual Denzel being on top of the situation with his character who is a pilot deserving of medals but denied such due to his grisly addiction that had nothing to do with the mechanical failure. Kudos to Bruce Greenwood for being his loyal friend and union rep and Don Cheadle for his straight and narrow role as the union lawyer trying to keep Denzel out of the ultimate hot seat.

The story opens with the red hot Nadine Velazquez showing us her birthday suit and being Denzel's main squeeze. Later Kelly Reilly gives a sensitive portrayal of an addict who crosses paths with the sinking Whip. Melissa Leo cameos as the prime NTSB investigator who finds a way to crack Whip's case.

This movie may not be quite what the trailer makes it to be as it really delves into heavy addiction and all the ramifications thereof.
