'Captain Phillips': Routine action-drama with a bit of gut wrenching . . .

From the reviews I've seen there is still a lot of Hank's worship going on. He put in his stock performance the first two thirds of the film only to turn on the emotions near the end. When he was finally rescued I fully empathized with his condition, reactions, and feelings. This alone may make it worth the trip. On the other hand, this strikes me as a reality-based 'Gravity' being somewhat of an audience pleaser by covering all the dramatic and action bases.

The film is just over two hours and thoroughly covers hijacking while giving us the unique perspective of pirates and their motivations. For the Somali life is a desperate matter and anything that betters their condition is acceptable. Kudos to the cast that portrayed them.
