'Nebraska': Corn-fueled Americana . . . .

OR, you can never go home again.

I know a lot of people liked this but I think it is for all the wrong reasons. It is a slice of small town, redneck America sold as unique and different because it was shot in B&W. I was surrounded by a lot older people who giggled and tittered at almost everything which did not even a give me a winkle of a smile. There is talk of Bruce Dern but all he did was stagger around and say a few lines every now and then. There was nothing special about the cast except for Keach playing the town blowhard bully. I think the fact it was shot in B&W somehow tricked people into thinking this was more real than not. It was like the Coen's with a terminal hangover.
