Satyajit Ray's adaptation of Ibsen's, "An Enemy of the People:" what makes this adapted play work, of course,

is the wonderful ensemble acting. The doctor who would expose the town's water contamination, jeopardizing the main attraction (the temple) immediately before its high season; his brother, the head town administrator that threatens to ruin him if he goes public: this is a great rivalry splendidly cast and acted.
Film buffs will, I'm sure, recognize how much Benchley's, "Jaws," stole from Ibsen in the themeā€¦.
