A TV series based on known pirates from that age...AD 1715 or thereabouts. Caribbean. Lots of Spanish gold to fight for. Season 2 has aired its 3rd episode. And the 2nd and 3rd were amped up with some extreme violence by one very nasty pirate captain known in his day as Ned Low. what happens after this is yet to be revealed but for these past two episodes it was a rather interesting ride.
Some of the pirates brought back to life:
Captain Flint (English officer turned Pirate, (fictional via R.L. Stevenson))
Jack Rackham (pirate)
Ned Low (infamous pirate)
Anne Bonny (famous pirate)
John Silver (famous pirate cook invented by novelist Stevenson as Long-John Silver)
Charles Vane (Pirate)
etc.

Where: Starz
When: Saturday evenings
What: definitely rated "R" for plenty of naked nubile females and for violence that lives up to the mythology of that era.
