RE: after viewing the trailer.....

...It looks kind of like a reality based sci-fi story.

I have not read the book, but now I want to.

The visuals seen in the trailer kind of remind me of that movie; "Mission To Mars" (2000)

The other Mars movie: Red Planet (2000) which turns into a horror movie when the on board Robot goes nuts and attacks the mission crew while on the surface of Mars....when crew members aren't busy murdering each other. Oh, and they discover a new life form...but it's not friendly.

Hopefully this new movie will offer something better than the other two I mention.
