This is a very odd film. No names (except for Bernthal, Britton, and Shannon) portray very odd high school seniors with very odd ways to socialize and spend their time.

Greg and Earl have been making films satires for as long as they can remember. They are almost inseparable and Greg refers to Earl as a coworker not a friend. We see their high school experience as chaotic and confused. Greg has no idea of what comes next after graduation and Earl only expects to live in the hood. Enter Rachel, the dying girl. A girl Greg really doesn't know that attends his school. Greg's mom shames/forces him to spend time with a dying girl as a grand gesture. He reluctantly goes to befriend her and the film continues with the hijinks, confusion, and emotional upset that befalls the situation.

To me, angry old white guy, this was somemthing a bit different from whatever I've seen. The humor, direction (or lack of), and script wandered but managed to keep me involved. It is for Millenials and it serves to teach them a few life's lessons. I saw where this won a huge prize at Sundance and realized they are in-tune with changes I'm not.

Great film for high schoolers and maybe the parental unit. Expect something a bit off beat and a different view of Pittsburgh.
