I don't think either actor is able to 'disappear' into the role. Whatever movie they're in.
Something about Affleck (Ben)has me thinking he is the more limited in terms of range in this comparison.
Apart from acting 'chops', I'd say in most cases Damon is easier for me to forgive, than is Affleck. Maybe it is just personal. I have this memory of Affleck and JLO all over the tabloids about 10 years back. It seems fairly clear now that the two of them pretty much urinated heavily on their own careers during that period.
