'The Man in the High Castle': Ten hour journey for closet Nazi's . . .

You know who you are: extroverted history buffs, appreciation for order over chaos, and all the nifty uniforms and military bearing that the Prussians gave the world. This 10 episode story, written by Phillip K. Dick, is an alternative history drama about life in a conquered America. Guess who got the A-Bomb first?

The central plot is that the resistance in America is trying to intercept "films" going to The Man in the High Castle. Alexa Davalos becomes involved when her sister pass a film to her before she is shot on the street by the Japanese security forces. She takes it upon herself to think this is crucially important to the resistance and does what she's not supposed to do: watch the film.

There is a large ensemble cast featuring Rufus Sewell as a head Nazi security officer in NYC. In ten hours we see how life has deteriorated for common Americans and how everyone is the object of surveillance.

Unfortunately, like the majority of science fiction writing the ending does not equal the beginning or middle. Not saying to skip it because it is a somewhat compelling story.
