A higher ceiling would be nice, but you do not need any ceiling treatment with dipoles. Also, a thin carpet may actually be better. I had a carpet pad under wall to wall carpeting and had to take it out.
You will need to treat front, rear, and side walls.
As with anything audio - experiment and listen. Don't try to do everything at once. If you do and don't like it, you won't know what the problem is. Too much is as bad as none!
