Looking for 5.1 HT Processor - Any suggestions?

I'm looking for a new or used HT processor for a 5.1 setup that is:

1. Reasonably priced ($1000 or less)
2. Has no video inputs
3. Has no analog bypass preamp
4. Has relatively up to date decoding capabilities
5. Not necessarily 6.1 or 7.1 capable (I'm stopping at 5.1)

I was thinking about a used Bryston SP-1, but I'd rather not have to pay for the analog preamp section since I will be playing 2-channel music through a dedicated 2 channel preamp. I saw the link down the page on the Klipsch processor. That was a just a little too far in the opposite direction from the Bryston. There must be something in between. Seems like companies are moving away from processors in favor of receivers, but I have all I need as far as amps go. Can anyone post some suggestions? Thanks in advance.
