Although I don't have mismatched subs yet, I plan to. Rather than run both subs from the same signal, I plan on letting my current Def Tech PF-15 do LFE-only duty, while setting up the new (better) sub to run in series with the main front speakers, so that my mains will be run full range. This would still be a mono-subwoofer setup (at least until I can buy a second new sub!). The bass from the center and surrounds will join the LFE signal in the Def Tech, but I hope to improve my 2-channel performance this way. With a reduced load (no bass from the front L/R channels), the LFE sub should perform better as well. I'd experiment with different connections and placements. It may take a while to get the best setup, but IMO, it will be worth it.
