On a limb here...

They do have DVD players with decoding built in (most I think actually). Problem is your receiver would not be able to use it. If you had a 5 channel receiver with 5 inputs (such as the Audio Refinement unit made a while back), you could have 5.1 sound. If you're looking for movie surround however you'd be just as well of buying a new receiver.
I can't think of any way your present Pro-Logic receiver can output 5.1 sound though, no.
