Is there a processor/amp to expand to home theater?

I've heard about the Yamaha DSP E800 but is there anyone currently making a similar unit?
I like the idea of having the rear and center speakers powered by one unit and being able to turn it off when I want to listen to two-channel. And I don't want to lose the performance of my current preamp and power amps.
