Need a couple of ideas from the Inmatesâ€¦.

Back-storyâ€¦

Currently remodeling the house and after disassembling the HT set up (Panasonic HD Plasma, Rotel RDV 1080 DVD, Rotel RSX 1055 HT receiver, Audio Concepts Sapphire/Emerald speakers) realized that this was a real messy set upâ€¦.kids could not use the system, wife could not use the system and the cabling looked like the floor of the Medusa hair salon.

Soâ€¦..here are my questions:

1: Am I correct in assuming that going with new HDMI set up will reduce the cable mess we currently have.

2: Thinking about a Marantz receiver (SR7001)â€¦any thoughts on this?

3: Does it make sense to spend big bucks on the DVD player anymore?

4: Is there a market for the used Rotel equipment? The Rotel equipment is built like a ton of bricksâ€¦and works as well today as it did when I purchased it.
