Anyone have trouble with video on Sony 301?

Last night playing a standard DVD, I go a band, about10% in from the side that traversed the entire frame from top to bottom. It looked like water was runnin down the screen, or moe accurately, running up from the bottom toward the top where the problem dissipated.. It stayed for about ten minutes till I got sick of it, pulled the DVD and put i in my $79 Toshiba Universal player. No problem.
