Should a sub be adjusted constantly?

If you have your sub tuned to work to your liking for music, should you adjust it when watching movies with LFE's?

My SVS sub has ports that can be plugged to go lower. I change the filter setting but should I mess with the anything else and then change it back when listening to music?
