TXT2793H Samsung 27" any good as a beginner HDTV?

I can get one at Best Buy for $422 with store pick up. I have heard of someone complaining of demensionality issues (curved straight lines on extreme edges) on the 30" set.This set has a depth of 16.3 inches so maybe such a short CRT might have problems keeping straight lines. The reason I'm considering the 27" is that maybe the smaller screen size may help the dimensionality issue. I will see-- if Best Buy has a demo set. What I really want eventualy is a new Pioneer Elite 50" coming out this September. I wont be able to get that thing for a while considering I may have to come up with $4500 -discounted (but worth a some waiting).
