Powered sub hook up question

This question may have come up from time to time before, but I have not been able to find it in the archive.

The pre-pro I have has only one sub-pre out. How do I hook it up to two powered sub woofers? I used a Y connector but found the bass not very strong. Thank you for your help. Peter
