Short review: Star Trek Season 1 (orig. series) looks fantastic in HD.

It's like viewing the series anew; even Shatner's acting looks better in HD, which is a major accomplishment, and the rich color spectrum is vastly improved. Some of the original serie's dialog and 60's era sexism is a bit dated and occasionally cringe-worthy, but the storylines hold up and the new effects only add to the overall impression that this series was well filmed and deserving of it's legendary status.

If you don't have an HD player, even if you're already firmly entrenched in the Blu-ray camp, this just might make it worthwhile to consider hopping on-board the HD express (as well).

Cheers,
AuPh
