For used I would say after Chistmas. People get new stuff for Chistmas and then sell the old gear.

New stuff is harder to predict and depends on how much inventory is left over. I received a coupon for 15% off any item at Magnolia this weekend only. Thinking about getting the new Marantz 8002av receiver now instead of waiting untill after the new year.
