Outside of some bad pressings (children of men-mexican plant?) there haven't been alot of problems with combos, except for the price. Many of the horror stories you hear have been spread by Blu-boys. I have over 15 or so combos, and only had a problem with CoM, and that was fixed with an update. The prices are another story. :-(
I ordered the Star Trek set, its gotten good reviews, and its clear they put alot of time and effort into restoring them. I have second generation, but nothing of the original, so I gave in. :-)
