Trouble with Component Input...???

Guys,

I have a Hitachi 43FDX01B rear projection HDTV set that I bought new about 4 to 5 years ago.

Recently I've been having a problem with the component video inputs becoming intermittant. I've tried a DVD player as well as my Comcast Cable HDTV (Motorola HD Box) and it happens with both sources... The picture is great one minute then goes totally blank (black screen) the next. The sound usually is unaffected but the screen goes black. It comes back on at random times and blips back out again. It's extremely annoying. The composite and S-video inputs are unaffected -- though the resolution is inferior, as you know. I tried unplugging and reseating all connections without success.

Do you think it could be the Monster Cable component wiring harness? Do you think it's the cheap input jacks on the rear of the Hitachi, or could there be a malfunction in the input circuit, or what? It's been a great set, but this is starting to make me crazy. Any insight and help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
Frank
