That would make perfect sense IMO, and in fact, Toshiba appears to have ceased development of the software: Last firmware updates were released in November whereas up until that time, they had been issued very few weeks (to my annoyance). And all remaining hardware had been heavily discounted for awhile, with no talk of replacements.

Would not be surprised to hear statements from Paramount, Universal and Dreamworks soon thereafter--hope they plan on staying in the high-def business.
