I would think that the Direct TV signal should penetrate through the roof or the window glass -- after all it had to penetrate several miles of atmosphere to get to your roof.

So I'd think it's probably worth a try. The worst that can happen is that you spend a couple of hours setting it up and find that the signal is too weak. I suspect no one would have a definitive answer for you. Trial and error may be your best strategy.
