The Way Up - A/V Nirvana

I wanted to mention the Blu-ray DVD of Pat Metheny's "The Way Up". I was mostly prompted to order it because it's about the only jazz related Blu-ray title available... now that I've been playing it at home though, I'm just blown away by everything about it... the performance, the musicianship, the complexity of the composition, the precision and detail that the artists perform it with, the camera work that captures so many of the elements of the sound that might otherwise be missed, the lighting, the dolby surround sound, the visual clarity and aesthetics of the performance, the absolutely stunning clarity and detail of the 1080p Blu-ray image. Just an all-around brilliant piece of work. THIS is exactly what I had in mind all along... from a decade or so ago as I was assembling the amps and speakers for surround sound, to the recent purchase of the 52" Hi-def TV, and the purchase of the Blu-ray DVD player. It represents the culmination of the quest to replicate live music as realistically and effectively as possible! An amazing performance presented via amazing technology. Brilliant, absolutely brilliant!
Pictures don't do justice to the super-realsitic 1080p image, but I've included a screen shot anyway.
