Hi,

IMO racerguy got it right -- LCD is a way better choice than plasma for her for two reasons. First is the screen burn issue. If she watches Fox or CNN the images at the bottom of the screen can burn in, but not on a LCD. And ambient light is an issue because she will likely have lights on pretty bright. At least my elderly Mom did. I wouldn't think fast motion sports should be a deciding factor, besides; my SONY has almost no motion artifacts.
