Well, it'll all depend

On what you're running them into. If you have a receiver/pre-proc. with HDMI inputs then chances are you'll receive a better signal via HDMI, along with less cables.

My Onkyo 605 receiver has the capablities to go either way (HDMI or Component) and I've tried my DirectTV HD box both ways. I prefer the signal via HDMI. Your results may vary - so give both a try and see which gives you satisfaction.
