Sony blu-ray will not play region 2 discs

my bdp-s301 will not play dvd region 2 discs, I called sony and the rep said that sony is strict about this. Is there another blu-ray player that will play region 1 and 2 dvd discs. My old pioneer dp-47 will and I want to watch pourcupine tree arriving somewhere disc (its from england)
