that electronic manufacturers are like automotive ones, new models come out at the end of summer so the current year's models which are overstocked often get dumped or at least reduced in price.
August/September are great times for bargains on the current year's models. Many companies will sell their overstock to giants like Costco and they are normally a one time event there. Costco is a good source as they offer consumers price protection so if the company offers a rebate with a two week period of you purchasing a set, Costco will honor the price reduction.
