Home Video Asylum

TVs, VCRs, DVD players, Home Theater systems and more.

Ok, thanks. A totally different system to here….

... I think the drama occurs when buying from interstate or an online dealer is when something goes wrong. I don’t think I’d want to get involved in all the drama if the flat panel you just saved a lousy couple of hundred bucks on arrived broken or not functioning correctly.

I live in a costal rural area and I have bought several flat panels. I find the best price possible online then go to the local big-box store and say “beat the price and you have a sale”. After all the obligatory burble & BS that it just isn’t possible they do the deal which is usually 40% to 60% off their ticketed price (they usually have to order it in) They deliver it & set it up. No problems thus far but if there were they’d be taking it back with them. I don’t want to think of the hassle if you courier something from interstate and it is DOA AFTER the courier is long gone.

I think it is extremely wise to purchase large flat-panel TVs locally & have them locally delivered.

Some luxury cars here are DOUBLE the price you lot pay for them :o)
